On May 26-28, the ‘Wellbeing at work’ conference took place in Copenhagen. The conference was interdisciplinary in nature, with an aim to bring together current knowledge from different academic fields in order to solve the problem of well-being at work.
Our laboratory was represented by Alexey Ulanovsky, Senior Research Fellow, and Tatiana Ivanova, Research Fellow.
The main topics addressed at the conference concerned the relationship of working conditions and the welfare of employees, the role of leadership and management in this regard, wellbeing in innovative and changing companies, and measurement of wellbeing at work.
‘The topic of health at work is of great interest from the perspective of companies, practitioners and researchers, successfully competing with the traditional theme of safety,’ said Ulanovsky. ‘Health is understood not as the mere absence of disease, and happiness at work is associated with innovation in the workplace.’
Conference organizers say that wellbeing at work is closely related to improvement of the working environment and employees’ health. Wellbeing at work is the combination of a safe working environment that does not harm health, an atmosphere of recognition and support, and the presence of development opportunities for employees.
