Winter School "Psychology of motivation"
The Winter School "Psychology of Motivation" of the Laboratory was held at the Voronovo Training Center from January 3 to 11.
The school was led by Kennon Sheldon, Academic Supervisor of the Laboratory, Professor of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri (Columbia, USA), one of the key specialists in the field of motivation and goals, one of the 20 most cited psychologists in the USA.
The school was dedicated to working with the data obtained in the first and second sections of the Russian-American-Indian psychological research conducted by the Laboratory under the leadership of Prof. D.A. Leontiev and Prof. K. Sheldon. Its purpose is to answer questions: how do people set goals and achieve them, how does this affect their well-being, and are there differences between cultures (Russia, USA, India) in terms of goals and happiness? The study consists of three parts during the semester (in September, October and December).
During the data analysis, interesting results were obtained, which will be presented at a symposium organized by the Laboratory on freedom and responsibility at the World Congress on Positive Psychology in Florida in the summer of 2015.
