Supervisor - Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, HSE University, PhD Evgeniy Osin
Personal goals play a crucial role in the satisfaction of basic psychological needs and overall well-being. Goal self-concordance, or the congruence between goals, values, needs, motives, interests, and personality dispositions, is vital for experiencing satisfaction and well-being. Pursuing self-concordant or intrinsic goals have a positive impact on well-being, while striving for non-concordant or extrinsic goals indicate mixed results and may be conducive to ill-being. Identifying underlying values and personality dispositions behind goal self-concordance is essential for cultivating a life that is in harmony with one's deepest aspirations. This project attempts to investigate the role of values and personality resources on goal self-concordance, goal pursuits, meaning in life, and well-being.
