Positive Psychology and Education

On November 8, 2016, within the framework of the seminar "Actual Research and Development in the Field of Education", the head of the laboratory Dmitry Leontiev and the leading research fellow Evgeny Osin made a report "Positive psychology and education".

The topic was devoted to the possibilities of positive psychology in the improvement of educational practices. The goals of general education were discussed: socialization, life competence, psychological well-being, and also the specificity of positive psychology aimed at studying factors leading to an increase in the psychological well-being of individuals and groups. Leontiev and Osin dwelled on the possibilities of introducing positive psychology at different levels of the education system: the existing programs for the secondary school and the accumulated experience of applying positive psychology accompanied by higher education. In this regard, positive emotions, autonomy, motivation, character strengths, virtues, meaning, resilience, positive interpersonal relations were touched upon.
