Home as a personal space and a source of well-being: announcement of the book
Home is a part of eveday personal experience, a rarely realised source of personal well-being, support, or exhaustion. The book is the first systematic study of the psychology of the home environment, in which the approaches and theories developed in the sciences of man and environment are compared and analyzed.
The psychological well-being can be found not only within the subject, but also in environment. Surprisingly, the focus of attention of researchers has so far failed to get such an important resource as a person's own home. The presented book fills this gap.
The theoretical and methodological bases of the research have been developed, the conceptual apparatus has been substantiated, standardized methods for studying the friendliness of the home environment have been prepared and tested.
At the same time, the main focus of the research is aimed at the interaction of the house and its inhabitants, or rather, the role of home in the lives of people living in different socio-economic conditions, depending on gender, age, development objectives.
